The Commercial Union Assurance Tower (now know as the Aviva Tower) at St Helen's, 1 Undershaft, London is a 26 storey commercial building which was badly damaged in April 1992 as a result of the IRA bombing in Bishopsgate.

CAI Vision has been employed in providing TV reception to the entire building prior to the bomb damage and as part of the rebuilding after the bombing and carried out the routine maintenance thereafter.

The original installation was a basic terrestrial TV system serving only several floors where all the cabling had to be installed out of hours so there would be no disruption to the office staff and therefore eliminating the safety issues with lifting up the floor tiles to access the false floor void.
When the building was damaged, we where contracted again to install a new system as part of the repairs and total refurbishment to the building. This time though the client wanted the system to every floor and to have the facility to receive all terrestrial TV channels with the addition of news and business channels such as CNN, Sky News, Bloomberg and Reuters.
The aerial array and satellite dish had to be of the highest quality to withstand the extremely high winds experienced at roof level especially as there is no parapet walls to offer any protection.
Professional quality channel processors and amplifiers where installed with all tee units and splitters being fully screened using captive IEC connectors in order to minimise any spurious signals ingressing onto the network which could corrupt the datacast signals.
Good quality TV reception and datacast at all the TV locations.
